Dignities of Planets & Relationship between them

Firstly, planets are classified into two groups namely benefic and malefic as follows:
Natural Benefic Planets: Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are considered benefic by nature
Natural Malefic Planets: Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are considered malefic by nature
Generally, Moon and Mercury are not always benefic. Full Moon i.e. the Moon near Pournima is considered benefic, while ‘No Moon’ i.e. Moon near Amavasya is believed not to be benefic. And also, Krishna Paksha Ashtami to Pournima and Pournima to Krishna Paksha Ashtami , moon is benefic.
Similarly, if Mercury is placed with benefic planet, it is considered benefic and if placed with malefic, it is considered malefic. In other words, nature of Mercury depends upon the nature of planet influencing it.
It should be remembered that all natural malefic planets do not always produce negative results. Similarly, all natural benefic planets do not always give positive results. Good or bad effect depends up on several other factors like ownership, placement and aspects etc.
Let us start with first factor i.e. Sign Placement. Generally, any planet gives positive results in exalted sign (uchcha rashi), own sign (Moolatrikona), and friendly sign (mitra-rashi) in this order. In other words, exalted planets give best results, planets in own sign give second best results and planets in friendly sign gives third best result, if we want to quantify. On the other hand, if a planet is positioned in debilitated sign (neecha-rashi) or enemy’s sign (shatru-rashi), it is not capable of giving good results.
Summary of above explanation is given in the table

Relationship between planets
For each planet, its friends and enemies are found as follows:
Take the Moolatrikona of the planet. Lords of 2nd, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 12th rasis from it are also its natural friends. Lords of other rasis are its natural enemies. If a planet becomes a friend and an enemy on account of owning two rasis, then it is a neutral planet. The list of friends, neutral planets and enemies of all planets is listed in table below.
A planet is known as is in friendly sign only when he is in a sign whose lord is planet’s friend.
Examples:
Jupiter in Leo is in a friendly sign because Jupiter is a friend of Sun.
Mars in Taurus is in a neutral sign as he is neutral to Venus.
Venus in Cancer is in a inimical sign, she is inimical to the Moon.

Temporary Relationships
In addition to the permanent relationship, we have temporary relationships based on the planetary position in a chart. These temporary (tatkaala) relationships are specific to a chart.
Temporary Friendship
The rule for temporary friendship of planets is
Planets in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 12th are temporary friends.
Planets in the other Rasis (1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th) are temporary enemies
There is no neutral temporary relationship.
Example:
Jupiter in Pisces and Moon in Virgo are temporary enemies because they are mutually in the 7th house.
Mix of Permanent and Temporary Friendship
Rules for the mix of permanent and temporary friendship are
